Justification
Governor's Recommendations 2022-23
The Governor's Budget Recommendation for Fiscal Year 2022-23 includes $361,858 recurring in the Operating Trust Fund
within the Division of Retirement (division) to provide three contractors for specialized computer, network, domain, and
telephony technical support for the Integrated Retirement Information System (IRIS) for the Florida Retirement System
(FRS). The division is housed in two separate Tallahassee locations: Headquarters on Blair Stone Road, and the Contact
Center on Shumard Oak Boulevard. Staff at the locations require on-site technical support from 7 AM to 6 PM, in addition
to after-hours updates, upgrades, deployments, configurations and testing. Technical services are delivered to
approximately 256 full-time positions, Other Personal Services (OPS), and contracted positions supporting the daily
operations of the division who provide mission critical services to the 2.6 million members of FRS. IRIS consists of five
integrated systems, and the division requires expertise to understand the software components.
