Issue:            DIVISION OF RETIREMENT INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY RESOURCES

Justification
Governor's Recommendations 2022-23
The Governor's Budget Recommendation for Fiscal Year 2022-23 includes $361,858 recurring in the Operating Trust Fund within the Division of Retirement (division) to provide three contractors for specialized computer, network, domain, and telephony technical support for the Integrated Retirement Information System (IRIS) for the Florida Retirement System (FRS). The division is housed in two separate Tallahassee locations: Headquarters on Blair Stone Road, and the Contact Center on Shumard Oak Boulevard. Staff at the locations require on-site technical support from 7 AM to 6 PM, in addition to after-hours updates, upgrades, deployments, configurations and testing. Technical services are delivered to approximately 256 full-time positions, Other Personal Services (OPS), and contracted positions supporting the daily operations of the division who provide mission critical services to the 2.6 million members of FRS. IRIS consists of five integrated systems, and the division requires expertise to understand the software components. This issue was included in the department's Legislative Budget Request.
