Issue: SPECIALIZED SERVICES INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY STAFF AUGMENTATION |
Justification
Governor's Recommendations 2022-23
The Governor's Budget Recommendation for Fiscal Year 2022-23 includes $180,000 nonrecurring in the Surplus Property
Revolving Trust Fund within the Federal Property Assistance budget entity, to provide staff augmentation for the
development and implementation of automated processes within the program. The current software system, AssetWork's Asset
Management Platform (AMP), was designed for receiving and donating inventory and does not have the ability to manage a
customer database or to connect (link) with the primary partnerships in the Federal Donation program, the General
Services Administrative, and Defense Logistics Agency. Currently, the department is supplementing AMP by using Excel
spreadsheets, which is ineffective in compiling data or running comprehensive reports. The automation would allow the
existing staff and manager to ensure accurate and high-quality results are achieved in the day-to-day operations and the
successful implementation of the direct ship federal donation program.
This issue was requested in the department's Legislative Budget Request.
