Issue:            REAPPROVAL OF BUDGET AMENDMENT TO INCREASE BUDGET AUTHORITY IN FEDERAL GRANTS FOR LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SERVICES

Justification
Governor's Recommendations 2022-23
The Governor's Budget Recommendation for Fiscal Year 2022-23 includes a nonrecurring authorization of budget amendment (BA) EOG# B0055 which was approved on August 6, 2021. This BA granted additional budget authority of $533,286. Annually, the department receives Library Services and Technology Act Grant funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The State Library Archives of Florida uses the funds to strengthen libraries and improve their information and services. This budget amendment granted additional budget authority because the current year grant award exceeded the authority level in the Federal Grants Trust Fund (FGTF).
