Justification
Governor's Recommendations 2022-23
The Governor's Budget Recommendation for Fiscal Year 2022-23 includes $1,500,000 in nonrecurring budget authority in the
Land Acquisition Trust Fund to support a Fixed Capital Outlay Maintenance and Repair project. The project is creating an
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) multi-use trail around The Grove Museum. The Grove Museum and its surrounding
acreage (10.5 acres) engages the public in dialogue about civil rights and American history. There is currently a partial
trail on the property. It would be beneficial to have an ADA accessible trail that surrounds the Call-Collins house. This
would allow more individuals, including many local senior citizens, to enjoy an outdoor walking trail that includes
historical education components.
