Justification
Governor's Recommendations 2022-23
The Governor's Budget Recommendation for Fiscal Year 2022-23 includes $168,177 in nonrecurring budget authority in the Land Acquisition Trust Fund and the Historical Resources budget entity for the purchase of three vehicles. The funds will purchase one F-350, one F-250, and one F-150 to replace three existing higher mileage and aging vehicles. The vehicles being replaced are two trucks and one suburban used by the department's archeologists that travel throughout the state. The excessive mileage on the vehicles has caused reliability issues, high maintenance costs and liability risks. There have been breakdowns on the interstate and other issues. Over the past two fiscal years, repair costs for the three vehicles have totaled over $20,000.
