Issue:            ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR

Justification
Governor's Recommendations 2022-23
The Governor's Budget Recommendation for Fiscal Year 2022-23 includes $120,000 recurring Insurance Regulatory Trust Fund authority for routine maintenance and repair at the State Fire College. The State Fire College campus includes 11 main buildings that were constructed in 1988. These buildings total over 65,000 square feet and include classrooms and dormitories. Over the past five years, the Fire College has spent an average of $117,297 annually for emergency repairs, general repairs, and equipment failures. Funding is being recommended in a new non-fixed capital outlay special category created for routine maintenance and repair. This issue was requested in the department's Legislative Budget Request.
