Issue:            INCREASE IN REQUIRED PASS-THROUGH OF MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION PROCEEDS TO COUNTIES

Justification
Governor's Recommendations 2022-23
The Governor's Budget Recommendation for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 includes funding increase to the Tag Fee Distribution category in the Division of Air Resources Management. The Division is required by Section 320.03(6), (F.S.) to pass through a portion of the $1.00 motor vehicle registration fee (Tag Fee) collected by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) to any county that has a Department approved local air pollution control program.
