Issue:            INCREASE STAFF - WATER POLICY AND ECOSYSTEMS RESTORATION

Justification
Governor's Recommendations 2022-23
The Governor's Budget Recommendation for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 includes funding for a Deputy Director position in the Office of Water Policy and Ecosystems Restoration. The position is critical for providing the Director and staff with the necessary support to ensure the vital role of protecting Florida's future water supply is met. The Office of Ecosystem Projects was combined with the Office of Water Policy to form the Office of Water Policy and Ecosystems Restoration. The Office oversees many executive level priority projects and has received significant increases in legislative appropriations creating additional duties and responsibilities.
